Prum Ero (b.1989, Site B Cambodia-Thai border) lives and works in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is a documentarian working in photography and videography. Besides his works, he also worked with a number of renowned artists and filmmakers in Cambodia and beyond on various projects. Ero’s practice focuses on the documentary in digital photography and video. It centers on documentation as a form of preserving history, memory, and also reminds us of what may happen in our future. His works are based on nature, architectural landscapes, and the process of information. Importantly, it serves as an archive for present and future use.
Ero has worked with some of the leading contemporary Cambodian artists like Khvay Samnang, Svay Sareth, Thang Sothea, and Vuth Lyno. His exhibitions included Invisible Voices (Treeline Artist Grants) “Songket Sakor”, Treeline Urban Resort, Siem Reap (2020); Projection evening, Angkor Photo Festival, Siem Reap (2018); Bring Forest to the City, Bophana, Phnom Penh (2017); Phnom Penh’s Corner Architecture, Bophana, Phnom Penh (2015); and Sangker Memories, Sangker Gallery, Battambang (2014).
